Bettina von der Pahlen
PhD Bettina von der Pahlen is a senior researcher at the Center of Excellence for Behavior Genetics. She is
currently Professor of Psychology at the Åbo Akademi University. She is also an Adjunct Professor
of medical psychology at the Åbo Akademi University, and holds a position as special researcher at
the Department of Mental Health and Alcohol Research (MAO) at the National Public Health Institute
in Finland. Her research focuses primarily on the relationships and interactions between alcohol use,
aggression and steroid hormones in adults and adolescents.
Within this project Bettina focuses on the effects of genetic and environmental factors on
aggression and steroid hormones, as well as the effects of alcohol use on behavior.
