High-throughput technologies have caused a revolution in biology. The amount
of available information has exploded during the last ten years.
Bioinformatics focuses on the management and analysis of biological
information using state-of-the-art computational methods. The ultimate goal
is trying to understand life from molecules to populations.
CSC provides bioinformatics expert services based on the most powerful
supercomputing environment in the Nordic countries. Services consist of
- Programs and databases: A wide selection of bioinformatics programs and
databases are available. Most of them are free for academic researchers, but
usually a CSC user account is required.
- Courses and events covering many areas of bioinformatics are organized
regularly.
- Guide books and magazines can be downloaded in PDF.
- Research and development projects aim to improve our services.
- Networks bring together people with similar interests in bioinformatics.
