Participation

Here you can submit your abstract or theme session suggestion as well as register for the conference.

There are several ways in which you can participate:

  • as a plenary speaker
  • as an individual paper presenter
  • as a poster presenter
  • as a general participant.

If you would like to present an individual paper or poster, simply submit your abstract directly to us at lcm4turku[at]gmail.com (500 words as a pdf file or rtf file). When submitting your abstract, please include your contact information. Deadline for abstract submission is the 15th December 2009

If you would just like to attend the conference, you need not do anything special until it is time to register.

Registration

Registration for the conference should be done through the online registration form. All participants must register for the conference. Early registrations are due by 1st March 2010, late registrations by 1st May 2010.

Fees

The fees for the LCM conference are:

  • Early registration (until 1st March 2010): 140 euros
  • Late registration (from 2nd March 2010 to 1st May 2010): 165 euros
  • Reduced registration fee (see registration form): 125 euros
  • The Finnish Evening 70 euros
  • Members of The Scandinavian Association for Language and Cognition (SALC), which is sponsoring the event, will receive 20% discount on registration fees.

The registration fee includes lunch and coffee breaks during the conference, admission to all scientific sessions, all congress materials and administration costs. The Finnish evening fee includes a steam ship trip, dinner and sauna (swimming), Finnish tango music.

Please add the project number into the field for additional information when paying from outside Finland. All payments must be by bank transfer in Euros; we regret that cheques and credit cards cannot be accepted. We hope to make alternative payment methods available soon. In case of difficulties, please contact the local organizers.

if you are paying the registration fee for the conference via online banking in Finland or 30 other countries that are part of the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) it is possible to do it without any additional fee as if it was a domestic payment.

Abstract submission

Abstracts for 30-minute presentations should be submitted by 15th December 2009. Notification of acceptance by 15th February 2010.

Each abstract should conform to the following specifications:
500 words, single-spaced, font size 12 pt, with 2.5 cm margins on all sides. Any diagrams must fit on the same page.

Head material (at the top of the single A4 page):
Title of the paper
Author name(s)
Author affiliation(s) in brief (1 line)
Email address of principal author.

Abstracts should be emailed to lcm4turku[at]gmail.com as an ATTACHMENT (i.e. not included in the message) as a rtf file or pdf file (if it is necessary to include a diagram or figure).
