Is Sweden leading the spiritual revolution?
Erika WillanderBringing a new perspective to the secularization debate, Paul Heelas and Linda Woodhead (2005) are suggesting that religion is declining while spirituality is growing. Heelas and Woodhead call this the ?Spiritual Revolution?. But, how does one find a Spiritual Revolution? One aim of the locality study called the Enkoping project was to search for empirical evidence for a Spiritual Revolution in Sweden. For this reason two separate surveys and complementary in depth interviews were carried out. However, the results both show support and doesn?t show support for a Spiritual Revolution. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to discuss the impact of method when researching religious change.
