Social basics for spreading of the messianic Judaism in Russia.

Anna Panteleeva, Moscow State University

I would like to consider the social basics and preconditions for spreading of the messianic Judaism in Russia.

It is obvious that the ideas of the messianic Judaism became more popular during the last years. We would like to learn not only Moscow messianic communities but also community in regions and especially in Kazan. The main different between them is origin. We know that the Moscow messianic communities originate from some Christian (Protestant in particular) communities. But messianic community in Kazan arised without any influence from the Christian organizations. And it is very interesting for us to compare the motives and other factors bringing people to these communities. And I also would like to compare their ideology, educational system and principals of organization.

And as a result I would like to present the data of my sociological research among messianic communities in Moscow and Kazan.
