The United StatesEven if Great Britain is the most popular country, quite a few students decide to go to the USA to do their language practice, as well. Some students have spent a year in the States and like to go back while others take this chance to go there and stay in the land of opportunities where everything is bigger and better (for some reason Hawaii seems to be among the most popular places in the country...!).As for Great Britain, there are probably quite a number of organizations providing work placement in the USA, and once again, some caution when dealing with these should be exercised There are a few organizations which have turned out to keep their word and provide people with the services they were promised. CCUSA (Camp Counselors USA) offers work to assistants at summer camps
in the States. They are used to having foreigners working with them and
take good care of people from overseas. The work might range from maintenance
through kitchen to office work depending on your wishes and suitability.
Costs for this program might not, in the end, be all that high, since CCUSA
pays a part of your flight over, and food and accommodation are naturally
included. The interview fee is Fmk 350.-, the placement fee is Fmk 450
and your part of the plane ticket to New York around Fmk 2000.-. For the
nine week period you are required to stay you are paid according to your
age, but the amount should be between $ 350 and $ 400/nine weeks.
