International accounting and controlling

Accounting is one of the major subjects in business studies at Åbo Akademi University. Accounting describes the business reality in financial figures. It is the foundation for the management of companies and organisations and shows how companies perform financially. Accounting is a common language for all business people. When you graduate with accounting as your major, you can work as a financial manager or controller or start your career as an auditor.

The International Accounting and Controlling profile offered to foreign students benefits from a combination of accounting and other business studies with language studies and courses in international commercial law. Two courses in accounting are provided during the next academic year in English on an advanced level of accounting. The student is expected to have passed intermediate level courses (2-3 years) both in financial and management accounting before entering the advanced level courses.
